Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students in Evergreen schools is our highest priority and primary concern. For parents, please be assured that Evergreen schools are safe places for your kids, and that appropriate supervision is taking place throughout the school day. There are, however, a number of safety reminders that parents can review with your children. These include:

• Advising your children not to talk to strangers;
• Reminding your children that if they are approached by a stranger to tell a teacher or adult;
• Where possible, ensure your child is not walking to/from school alone;
• Remind your child to be alert and aware of their surroundings at all times;
• Plan a safe route together with your children, which avoids cutting thru back alleys or secluded path systems;
• Discuss with your children the importance of staying on the chosen route and avoiding the temptation of short cuts.
If you would like further information, please communicate with the RCMP media contact listed above.
