Building Our House of Faith
The administration and staff would like to welcome back all the students and parents of St. Gregory Catholic School and would like to extend a warm welcome to all of those who are new to our community. We are excited to start this year and we thank you for the opportunity to serve and teach the students and families of this community.
Our spiritual theme for the 2013-2014 is: “Building Our House of Faith”. The inspirational scripture for this is 1 Corinthians 3. It is a message that builds on our theme from last year and it reminds us that we build our house of faith on a strong foundation, one that requires us to be diligent in our practices as Christians. Our Faith is like a house; it must be built on a strong foundation if it is going to last and weather the storms. The foundation of our faith is the Word of God and we cannot build a great faith life without God’s guidance and loving care.
This year we have made a significant timetable change to our day; we will be having a longer morning for our students and a shorter afternoon. We have done this to try and maximize student learning, as research has indicated that students are more receptive and alert in the morning and primary students become more unfocused and tired in the afternoons. We would appreciate your feedback as the year moves forward regarding the success or challenges this change has made for your child.
Please remember that communication between home and school is very important to us. Do not hesitate to call or make an appointment with your child’s teacher to discuss any concerns or questions.
The administration and staff are looking forward to an excellent year, one filled with many great memories and moments of joy.
Yours in Christ,
Mr. T. Fafard
