St. Gregory Catholic Elementary School

Welcome to the Saint Gregory Catholic Elementary School Website!  We are pleased that you've taken the opportunity to browse and explore what is available for your child in our school.

St. Gregory is a welcoming community of teachers, parents, and students nestled in the foothills of Alberta.  Our staff is committed to providing students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade Four with an academically rich and faith filled environment.  Our Early Literacy and Academy of Reading program assists students who need the extra support with the development of Reading, Writing and Spelling skills.  We're proud of our Provincial Achievement Test Results which are above provincial average from year to year. 

Through the Hinton Community Health Services, in conjunction with a Speech-Language Pathologist, we were able to train one of our teacher aides as a Speech-Language Aide.  Our Kindergarten staff, along with all educational assistants are trained in Speech Assistance.  For this reason, we are able to diagnose and provide early intervention to students who require Speech Assistance. 

We're truly blessed to have a strong parish presence in our school.  Father Brian and his Pastoral Assistant Roni Iwanciwski, visit our classrooms many times throughout the year.  We celebrate masses and liturgies, read and share stories as well as learn more about our faith together.  Our Catholic Community is strengthened by their support. 

Our Parent Council and Parent Advisory Committee meet on a monthly basis, making decisions for the betterment of our students.  We commend them for their involvement with fundraising, volunteering, school activities as well as providing support for our teachers.  We want our parents to be actively involved and feel they have a voice in their child's education.
