It is hard to believe that the first five months at St. Gregory have already passed and we are over the mid-way point in the school year. It has been a pleasure to work with such focused students and committed staff. I am proud of the progress of our St. Gregory students! Remember that regular school attendance, a positive attitude and being engaged in learning are instrumental in achieving academic success.
We have a very busy schedule ahead of us in February: cross- country skiing and snow shoeing days, teacher’s convention, Alberta Opera, and Random Acts of Kindness Week. We are very fortunate to have access to these opportunities and we would like to thank our Parent Council for their continued financial support. It allows us to continue to offer a wide variety of educational learning experiences for your children and we are grateful for them.
Did you know that our students collectively raised more than $1700.00 for charities during the month of December and our Family Christmas Dance raised $2000.00 for Mary’s Meals along with another $700.00 being directed towards special events for our students ?! I would like to congratulate our student body for taking the initiative to support our local SPCA, Santa’s Anonymous, Christmas Turkey drive and for disadvantaged students through the Chalice organization. This is truly a reflection of their compassionate nature and deep understanding that we should always reach out to support those around us that are less fortunate. Kudo’s!
Again, we would like to thank everyone for their continued support of our school. It is very encouraging to see the level of cooperation by our parents and we hope that this partnership continues to grow each year!
